Having spent her early years living on the Isle of Wight, Linda retains her love of the coast and her work often features landmarks such as lighthouses and harbours. However, living in landlocked Berkshire, she has found herself looking to London for inspiration, exploring the collage of textures of the city as modern structures engulf the architecture of previous centuries.
Visual texture is important to Linda and she works in water-based mixed media with an innovative, non-traditional approach that focuses on texture. Sometimes she collages different paper surfaces, tearing back and scratching the paper surface repeatedly producing rich layered effects.
Whilst restricted due to the COVID pandemic, Linda has developed a series of semi-abstract landscapes using the interaction of her imagination and the wonderful properties of water-based media.
