All of David's work is concerned with the landscape. He begins by painting in-situ with watercolours and tempura. He then develops small beginnings into larger works in oil, acrylic and mixed media. In recent years he has explored the subtle marks of tempera and watercolour on large-scale works to capture the vast landscapes of India. He is fascinated by marks; the painter’s and those that humans make when they work the land. His view of the landscape is shaped by the spirits of artists and land-workers past and present.
