Helga Chart works freely with mixed media and watercolour and also work in oils. In all cases she incorporates print and collage and likes to explore the potential of challenging and unusual surfaces. Her subject matter is often based on landscape, natural form and the weather of seasons. Helga’s development and process towards a final ‘piece’ includes the study of writing, often contemporary Scottish poetry and visiting natural history collections, both at home and abroad. Studies in these collections provide her with valuable information for development into final pieces.
