My parents had a lifelong interest in the arts which they passed on to me, together with the bug of curiosity. Art Schools taught so many of the skills you need as well as opening my eyes to the umpteen possibilities but in the end what was important for me was to have a constant interest in what goes on in the world - plus of course having an endless supply of ‘blank canvases’.
